Butterworks is the oldest operating organic farm in Vermont, proudly producing yogurt, buttermilk, kefir and heavy cream in our creamery for sales throughout the Northeast. In 2016, we took our herd of Jersey cows, all descended from the first girls we brought home in 1976, to a 100% grass-fed diet. Our founders, Anne and Jack Lazor, were inducted into the Vermont Agriculture Hall of Fame in 2019 in celebration of their deep commitment to earth-friendly farming practices and cow comfort.
