Visiting dogs are often not compatible with farm operations. Green Mountain Girls Farm is no exception. However, like many farms and farmers they are full-on, full-time dog appreciators! The Northfield Farmers Market will celebrate the close canine and farm connection during Open Farm Week, welcoming dogs and dog owners with delicious and virtuous (think refillery, dog treat options with zero packaging, pasture raised, etc.) offers and activities. Training working dogs is fundamental to Green Mountain Girls Farm’s success and they are excited to share samples of their “Farm Dog Approved” regenerative dog AND CAT treats among the many fun offers from the Northfield Farmers Market community on this festive and furry event on the quintessential Vermont Town Common.

No cost or registration needed.

Note: This event is at the Northfield Farmers Market, not at Green Mountain Girls Farm.

____

The Northfield Farmers Market is a non-profit organization that has been formed to serve as a community gathering place where local famers, producers, and artisans can offer fresh produce, locally prepared foods, and crafts to Northfield and its surrounding areas, while generating a sense of local pride, trade and commerce in Northfield.

Created in 2009, Green Mountain Girls Farm is steeped in the rich culture of Vermont's working landscape. Regenerative practices aim to grow food in ways that capture the greatest potential of the sun, rain and natural systems, while enhancing food quality, plant health, soil life and ecosystems. The farm employs low-till and permaculture farming techniques to feed regenivores and regenitarians who seek out meat from pigs, poultry, and small ruminants raised in intentional grazing systems. They also host tours; farm experiences and stays as well as farm-to-table meals. Customers and guests choose Green Mountain Girls Farm because they want their food and tourism choices to support social and ecological health. They satiate their senses, satisfy their quest for connection, and deepen their appreciation of Vermont and small family farms everywhere.
