The Farm to Ballet Project is an original ballet about a farm through the seasons. Dancing vegetables, familiar animals, and even the seasons themselves come to life through dance in a joyful and entertaining show.

The ballet explores the relationship between farmers and land, natural food cycles, and the human role in ecosystems.

FOOD ON-SITE:
Bring your appetite for tasty local vendors serving a variety of cuisines from their food trucks. Specific food trucks to be announced so stay tuned!

EXTRA ACTIVITIES:

While at Retreat Farm, visit the animals on pasture, explore the Forest Playground, and wind your way through the Hope Garden and other trails. The farm will be open at 4pm so there will be ample time to enjoy.

The Farm to Ballet Project is performed outside at farms and ticket sales are shared with the farm to help implement regenerative agriculture projects.

"Retreat Farm seeks to foster a just, healthy, and sustainable community in southern Vermont. We utilize our unique property, programs, and partnerships to connect people to the land and to one another, recognizing that the relationship between humans and the land is the foundation of our health, sustenance, and inspiration. Located on traditional Abenaki homelands in Brattleboro, Vermont, Retreat Farm encompasses over 500 acres of conserved forests, farmlands, trails, and waterways. Its historic Farmstead sits at the confluence of the West and Connecticut Rivers surrounded by wooded hills and rich farmland, cared for by its indigenous inhabitants for countless generations. Our lands comprise a vast, resource-rich, and accessible “common” open free to the public year-round."

All proceeds from Retreat Farm's share of ticket sales will go toward supporting local food trucks using local food at a lower rate so that low income families can afford to come to the farm's food truck Roundup Event where families can come together for delicious food, lawn games, and live music.
