Learn Something New: Vermont Open Farm Week 2024

Winemaking, fiber arts, garlic braiding, poultry processing,  the list goes on and on.  During Open Farm Week 2024, you'll have the opportunity to learn how our farmers and food producers grow food and make products from our working landscape.  Go behind the scenes, join a workshop or take a class. Learning something new and seeing something for the first time is exciting and makes Vermont Open Farm Week a can't miss experience. 1. Explore Fiber Arts

If you have been waiting to explore fiber arts, now is the time to explore weaving and spinnin. Head to the farm, and get hands-on with wool and flax. 

2. Learn how to make wine with local grapes.

Have you thought of growing wine grapes in Vermont, or wanted to learn how to make wine at home? Join the folks at Shelburne Vineyard for this course to learn all about cold climate winegrowing and the basics of home winemaking!

 

3. Use the power of the sun to make a garden-inspired photograph.

Did you know that Cynotypes were first developed in 1842? They are one of the earliest forms of photography.  Learn the very simple and fun process of cyanotype with local artist Emil O’Melia! Bring home art from the farm.
