Teamsters from Vermont and beyond will convene for the excitement of Draft Animal Day, Sunday, May 14 from 10:00AM – 5:00PM. Join Billings Farm & Museum for a day packed full of demonstrations and activities showcasing draft horses, steers, and oxen.
Local 4-H Clubs and Teamsters from across New England will participate in skills development clinics in fitting and show, cart class, and stone boat. Visitors can try their hand at plowing the fields, enjoy the parade of oxen and working steers, and get up close to a beautiful draft horse with a harnessing demonstration.
The fun continues all day with:
- Hobby Horse Barrel Racing – win a ribbon!
- Make your own Steers Ears headband
- Harness repair demonstrations with Leatherworker Mark Humpal
- Yokes and equipment from New England Ox Supply on display
- Historic farm equipment on display
The Wicked Awesome BBQ Food Truck will be on site from 11AM – 4PM serving delicious American BBQ for purchase.
Purchase ice cream, snacks and beverages from the Farmhouse Scoop Shop on the patio behind the 1890 Farm Managers House.
