Join Brot Bakery for our most popular class: An introduction to sourdough baking! Learn all about baking with a starter culture in a short course that will give you the basics to continue your sourdough adventure at home.
Making completely natural bread with sourdough may look daunting - and yes, it will take some planning and knowledge. But it does not have to be complicated! You don't even need a mixer, it's all made by hand. All you need is a basic understanding of wild yeasts and microorganism and you can start your bread & pastry making adventure.
In this class we cover the fundamentals of sourdough alchemy in bread & pastry making. You will be working with own sourdough culture (which can be shipped or obtained from a local bakery up to one week before the class) and learn about proper mixing, shaping and baking. Together we will mix a bread dough by hand - I will demo in the bakehouse and you can follow along in the comfort of your kitchen and continue the baking process at home. We will meet again via zoom the next day (optional) to discuss the results.
Even if you are a total beginner when it comes to bread baking you will get your fundamentals by watching the demo and being able to work with the recording at home. You will be inspired by wild yeasts and their magic!
